iRewind ONE App – Recommended Devices

Intro #

Our app is specifically designed to extract the most out of the hardware and software available on some of the most used smartphone brands on the market, using proprietary technology to increase recording time and adjust processor and storage usage while still providing full HD recording capacities for hours on end.

Operating System requirements #

Our app runs on any Android device using at least Android 11 (released in Sep. 2020) as an Operating System. So any smartphone newer than January 2021 should easily be usable.

Storage requirements #

The footage is recorded and stored directly on the device’s internal storage, and 1 hour of footage will consume roughly 7.5 GB of storage. Make sure you use a device with enough free storage space to accommodate the length of your event. We recommend having a minimum of 64 GB available on the device, and most devices our partners use usually have roughly 100 GB available.

Once the device uploads the footage to our servers, it will automatically delete it from the device.

Camera recommendations #

Our app uses the native, main camera of the phone. Most of the smartphone producers call this the “wide” camera. We recommend using a device which has a main (wide) camera of at least 12MP, although the current standard is of 48 – 50 MP.

iRewind ONE uses a minimum of 1080p resolution for recording, with minimum 25fps (frames per second). We recommend you check your device to have this minimum recording quality to ensure the best footage for your videos.

Recommended Devices #

The list below represents the list of tried & vetted options by our technical and production team, but the list can be amended with newer devices from various producers.

We highly recommend that you always perform a device test (app functionality / app stability / footage quality recording) on any new device you intend on using before deploying it to the live event.

Feel free to reach out to us via our Support chat for any assistance in choosing the right device for your event.
